Former England pacer Dominic Cork has shared his opinion regarding the teams of India and Pakistan after his involvement as the commentator at the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023.

The 52-year-old has rated India as the strongest compared to Pakistan. He lavished praise on India, however, was a little optimistic about Pakistan's chances.

"Been around Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal - it was a very good tournament, and obviously, India winning it quite comprehensively," Cork remarked. His words hinted at the strength and prowess displayed by the Indian cricket team.

Turning his attention to Pakistan, Cork couldn't help but express his reservations about their prospects in the upcoming World Cup. "Pakistan are just looking discombobulated. You look at them, it looks like they have no chance at the World Cup, but we can never write them off," he commented, acknowledging that despite their current struggles, Pakistan had a history of bouncing back when least expected.

Cork's assessment didn't end with Pakistan; he also had high praise for India, describing them as a "complete package." He noted that even without players like Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav in the lineup, India still appeared formidable. "India looks the strongest while Pakistan don't, but we can't write them off," he emphasised

The conversation then shifted briefly to Sri Lanka, where Cork highlighted the emergence of talented youngsters. He singled out Dunith Wellalage, a promising all-rounder, and Matheesha Pathirana, drawing comparisons to the legendary Lasith Malinga.

"Some really good talents coming through but India looks the strongest," he concluded.

It must be noted that India outclassed Sri Lanka in the final of Asia Cup 2023. They bowled the islanders on just the score of 50 and chased down the total in 6.1 overs.

Meanwhile, Pakistan lost to Sri Lanka and India which raised concerns about their team combination. The Men in Green have also not announced the squad for the World Cup yet.
